Founder’s Profile
Abidemi Adebamiwa is the Founder and Principal Consultant of ABT Investment & Consulting LLC, a global-facing public policy, governance, and strategic advisory firm headquartered in Pleasanton, California.
He is a scholar-practitioner whose work spans public-sector reform, international political economy, cross-border finance, and development strategy. His professional focus lies at the intersection of policy design, institutional governance, and practical implementation across emerging and developed markets.
Abidemi holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Strategic Intelligence), graduating cum laude, and earned graduate degrees in Public Policy & Administration and Law, with advanced training in institutional design, policy analysis, and regulatory frameworks. He is currently pursuing doctoral degree in Political Science and International Politics.
His professional portfolio spans Africa, Asia, and North America. He has contributed to infrastructure financing models, rural electrification strategies, sub-sovereign reform initiatives, and governance-focused advisory engagements. He has also served in civic and democratic accountability roles within U.S. local government institutions.
He is a founding Board Director of the BIPOC Foundation, which received a three-year $2.6 million federal investment announced by the Government of Canada in February 2022 to advance entrepreneurship development, accelerator programming, and access to capital for Black-owned businesses. In this role, he contributed to institutional governance and early-stage strategic oversight.
Previously, he served as Finance Director at a Nigerian commodities and refined petroleum trading firm, supporting and facilitating multimillion-dollar oil derivatives and downstream petroleum trading transactions, including financial coordination and trade-structuring support.
He has also supported successful fundraising stages for a West African airline, facilitating capital-raising engagements, investor coordination, and stakeholder alignment critical to operational sustainability and expansion.
In addition, he has conceived, organized, and led two high-level investment and policy conferences that convened senior government officials, American investors, and international private-sector stakeholders. These forums included participation from U.S.-based investment groups and representatives affiliated with the Corporate Council on Africa, creating structured platforms for dialogue on cross-border investment, development finance, and public-private partnerships.
Alongside advisory work, he is a widely published governance and policy commentator, with a focus on public finance discipline, infrastructure reform, accountability, and institutional legitimacy.
